Quick opinion...

What about hunt coordinates? I don't give them because I am a lazy ass, not because I think there shouldn't be any cheat sheets. I personnally seldom hunt and always with a cheat sheet... Now when I read that, it just makes me want to scratch some eyes out...
I love Ding, I love her blog and the shoes she makes, and I wouldn't be a blogger if it weren't for her, and I am always amazed at how she finds great stuff all the time.
Now if you don't like it, nobody forces you to read it.

This is just my personnal opinion, not the one of the whole team.

Rosie / Yael

PS: those of you who want the coords for the poop hunt can IM me inworld (Rosemarie Indigo / Yael Haystack)

Holidays!

And I DO celebrate, a lot... and sleep, and eat fish and melon, and have fun, lay on the beach and sleep some more...Oh yes, I love my holidays... The dress is called Jinx, it comes with 2 different skirts (a long ballgown and an empire / babydoll short skirt), 2 different pairs of gloves. Each color is sold for 400l$ only and the fatpack is available for 1500l$

Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up...

*giggles*

I know, we've been very busy with our RL and for my part , I must admit, a bit lazy... but goodies seem to fall like the rain in the north of France (= A LOT) at the moment, and it would be a shame not to show them to you... A Piece of Candy just sent a new group gift to their subcribo members, it's this lovely sexy dress:

Have you noticed the hair? It's new from 69! And if you are not a member of their group, well, first shame on you because it's an amazing hair shop (plus enrollment was free until July 1st and I can't believe you missed it *grins*) and second, you will have to wait 2 more days to be able to get to the shop and take a look at the different new hairstyles that have just been released...

Oh and what about the shoes? These lovely flats were made by my friend Shayariel (yes! yes! the one from the blog!) and you can find them at a very reasonable price (I think around 50l$) at her shop in Avilion Vale.

As for the skin, you may have already recognised the touch of Aryanna, from GDS, and yes it's one of the new Keikos...

(I'll add the missing slurls tomorrow morning SL won't let me back in)

Sweet sweet...

fanta diallo ouu ouu... fanta diallo!

Sweet Little Dahl, I mean Doux Petit Dahl, (sorry I have the bad habit of translating french into english lol...) is having a hunt!!

Here's what the notecard says:

The slurl provided here will take you to the first cube, from there you can find two on LEVEL ONE of Subtle Creek Shopping Mall, and then there's the two that will be chillin on LEVEL TWO of the mall.

**Just something fun to do, they aren't hidden as if it were my secret stash or anything, obvious enough to find pretty quickly and tricky enough to make it fun : ]

Happy mini hunting loves<3

  • Pants and shirt from the DPD mini-hunt
  • Hair from ETD
  • Skin from Geisha Dreams Skins, New Keiko line, called "Sugar" (told you it would be sweet!) G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S and not free, but I'll keep you posted on a photo contest that will happen soon

Because everybody loves magic

.. And Kouse ! Well I personnally do, for she is smart, fun and so generous and it's a honor to call her a friend. And guess what... She is organising a new picture contest. Last one was about a year ago now, so it's time again !

On the good news too, Kouse opened a flickr account for Kouse's Sanctum so show us your pretty dresses here. So as you guessed it by now, the theme for this contest is "Magic".

From Kouse's note:

You can interpret it any way you like, be it fancy spells, romance, fairytales, anything you feel has a magical element.

Guidelines: Any SL resident may enter this contest with a maximum of three entries given the following circumstances are present:

i) They submit a photographic entry for the contest to ‘Kouse Singh’

ii) The entry demonstrates a product from Kouse’s Sanctum worn on it’s model, either gown, jewellery, or a combination of both.

iii) Images must be given full permission for display purposes.

iv) Images may be raw screenshots or may be edited using image manipulation programs such as PhotoShop, Paint.net, Paint Shop Pro, and so forth.

v) Entries must have a title, preferably followed by the creator’s name. If name or title is not present, one will be made for you.

Too happy of having a good reason to mess on Photoshop, I dragged Rosemarie home to shoot pictures and here is a little test picture we did. You will be most happy to learn a few other details about this contest too.

There will be two categories of entries: 1) Digitally Manipulated Images and 2) Screenshots. So if you are not too found of programs such as Photoshop, Gimp or whatever you can use.. you will be able to take part without feeling put at a disadvantage. You can enter the contest any time untill August 19th for judging will begin on August 20th and winner's names will be then announced via notice in Kouse's Sanctum group, on Kouse's Sanctum blog and other fashion blogs as well (We will of course do it :p).

Now about the goodies... and you better sit before reading this.

First Place:
-A custom gown designed to your specifications and named after you.

-A special Kouse’s Sanctum shopping spree…choose any 25 items from the store you like!

-A gold trophy commemorating your victory.

-A special unreleased jewellery set (that may be released at a later date).

Second Place:
-A Kouse’s Sanctum shopping spree in which you can choose any 10 items you like.

-A silver trophy commemorating your victory.

-A special jewellery set (this will be a different set from the first place, and may also be released at a later date).

Third Place:
-A Kouse’s Sanctum shopping spree in which you can choose any 5 items you like.

-A bronze trophy commemorating your victory.

-A special jewellery set (unique from both first and second place winners)

Runner-Up Prize:
The number of runner up prizes will be determined by the overall number of entries. 50 entries will mean 5 runner ups, 70 will mean 7, and so forth.
-A Kouse’s Sanctum shopping spree in which you may choose and 3 items you like.
All participants will receive a special prize for their efforts, the Mayah Tiara, which is currently not for sale.

The first 15 entrants will also receive a special unreleased colouration of the ‘Tempest’ gown!

That's all for now.. First, breathe in, breathe out... and then have fun with this contest. Keep in mind this is for fun, and try your best to honor Kouse's creations. Also make sure to send pictures full perms as they will be also displayed on the flickr. If any info is needed, make a NOTECARD (no IM or she'll never get it) to Kouse Singh.

Enjoy !

What do those faces tell you?

They express joy and pain... Yeah, I know, that makes you feel old... and if you don't remember that, it makes ME feel old... anyway my face expressed utter joy when I spotted these skins in Ashia Tomsen's shop, Idiosyncrasy... I just HAD to buy them, even just for the pleasure to "Model" them for you...

Yes, the skin is called Model, and here are the 8 different make ups you can get, there's a freckles option (I luuuurve the freckles option) and 3 different skin tones (the one shown here is the Sunkissed one). Of course Ashia released other skin series, all beautiful...

And talking about skins... keep you eyes peeled for there are going to be new releases very soon at Geisha Dreams skins... with yes another contest, but don't we love contests?

In the eyes of a stranger...

...you'll be living in danger
Indeed, if you wear these gorgeous eyes from Poetic Colors, you may end up with a group of stalkers! The talented Lano Ling spoils us once more with that beautiful freebie that you will have to hunt for (but it's an easy one, look for a watermelon) in the Slice of Summer Hunt.

Hello gentle readers! I would like to let you know that for those of you who are not members of Avilion, you can still read my fashion page of the Avilion Chronicle here. It is a weekly page and displays fashion from Avilion Vale and/or Avilion Mist.

Allegra is a mystery to me...

There is a hunt at Kouse's Sanctum!! You have to search for 8 different trikets that each give you a different gown, and when you found them all, you send the 8 tokens in a folder to Kouse Singh and you get rewarded with and 8th gown and a surprise! I did the hunt with my friend Shay (who was humming all the time) from Shayariel's world of SL fashion and we thought we would make a common post, so here it is:

Rule the world...

we could ride on a star...

With these pretty gowns from Enchanted, you can be dressed like the characters of the motion movie Stardust :

I am showing the Lamia red dress and Imm is wearing the Yvaine blue dress. Aren't they pretty? And they are only 100l$ each!! Thanks Imm for dragging me there! *hugs* Immortelle* You can also find Eowyn dresses from LOTR at the same cheap price...

The hair I'm wearing is from the Magika Running with scissors hunt, as well as those displayed here. If you need help with the hunt, check the excellent blog of Maleficent Benoir, called The Hunt Locations. What I like with her blog is that she doesn't give the slurls but hints to find the items, which really helps without spoiling the fun of hunting...

Intrigue...

When one of the lucky chair stalkers asked for help the other day to lock a MM board, I went to Intrigue Co. to slap it and while I was there, I received a folder full of goodies! Intriguing, right?

So before I show them to you, I would like to warmly thank the designers who send us bloggers copies of their lucky chair, MM board and hunt items, and especially today, Katharine McGinnis from Intrigue Co. who sent me these nice tops...

The Yoshie hoodie is the MM board prize (only 150 slaps, totally doable) and the rest are lucky chair items... Have fun!

And while I was there, a ? showed up on the lucky chair and I won the lovely flower garland, that is colorchange...

I believe I can fly...

Greetings! My favorite OOC (out of character, means NOT medieval as far as I am concerned) designer, THE gentleman of SL, Morrigan Denimore (yes, I DO have a major crush on him, so what?) just released a new delight, that I intend to get as soon as my not so gentlemanly banker lets me buy linden $... So I am showing you the promo poster, which is quite unusual I know (but The Black Canary's promo posters are very pretty anyway...)

Aaaaaaand.... I was mentioning a contest in my previous post... Well here it is:

"My dear lolitas, aristocrats, and all those in between, the first ever lolita themed magazine is holding a cover page contest for the release of our first issue which is set to be released in the month of August. The theme of the first issue is something that is widely known to the lolita culture (and even those who are not): Alice in Wonderland. With this in mind, please post us your best Alice-themed image, and we may very well choose it to be on our cover page.

Now, here are the rules:

1) You are permitted to Photoshop your entry (in fact you really should; if you do not, that's quite alright, we may still choose it nonetheless so long as we have permission to touch it up for the cover).

2) You may only post one image, and it must be high resolution; those who post more than one will not be qualified.

3) Your picture must be tasteful, befitting of a proper lolita themed magazine; we do not wish to see your naughty bits.

4) Enjoy! The deadline to submit is july 25th; after this a winner will be decided and contacted.

The winner of this contest will receive a mini-feature in our magazine as well as have their picture on the front cover. In addition, they will receive store credit to The Black Canary, redeemable at any time for any one item of their choosing.

I am interested to see your lovely photos.

There's a place I dream about ...

where the sun never goes out...

Well right now in RL, the sun IS out there, grilling me and it came so suddenly I must admit I'm having troubles bearing the heat... Anyway I found some goodies for you on the grid... These lovely Monarch silks are by Ally Chevalier at Soul Garden (free from DSN), the pretty blond hair is free from the lucky board at Redlic, the sexy swim suit is from the MM board at SWIM and the colorful strapless shirt is from Potassium(DSN)

Now, let's be serious for a minute and look at the boots Renee Harvy from Duh! just released. The Boots sell for 25L$, or a fat pack of 6 for $100. The subscribo group members get the Pink Camo Boots, and the Blue Pair are currently a dollarbie in the stores. The red pair are the current prize in the lucky chair.

I thought I would share with you my entry for the Moon faery contest at Evie's Closet and Studio Sidhe so here it is... It's too late to enter but there is another contest I will talk to you about tomorrow...

Ca m'eneeeeeeeeerve!!

Ok well I need to explain that... It means "That pisses me off!!" and it's a song in french sung by a german guy and talking about all these things that piss him off. Well what pisses ME off is people who go to a hair fair wearing prim shoes (the more bling the better), skirts, belts, jewels, facelights, prim lashes, AOs, radars, HUDs and last but not least, HAIR, but not the low prim non flexi hair, noooooo, the hair from Analog Dog (that I love btw but NOT on a crowded sim) with a gazilion prims with flexi AND alpha (transparency if you prefer)
So, please pleeeeaaaaase check your ARC (Avatar Rendering Cost, that's your weight on the sim, Sua explains very well how to check that here) and if it's above 100, you're just so not "in" I'm sad for you... *grins*

And here's what I look like when I visit the Hair Fair... My ARC is 1, it's the lowest possible, and I walk like a duck, and guess what? I'm proud of it! Post on the Flickr your "special fair and hunt outfit" and the best 3 will be shown here on the blog! Oh and the "Shop till you drop" shirt is from a new place called Rezlpsa Loc (don't ask me, I don't get the pun, hehe, I'm french after all) where you'll find awsome funny shirts!

That being said, I fought the lag this morning and found a few nice things that I show you here matched with outfits from DSN.

Left:
Right:

This sexy piece of latex is supposed to be everything I hate: latex, pink and fur... but you know what? I love it!! It's from Vextra Messing Designs, another shop I had never heard of until the DSN thingamagic dropped it in my inventory... the hair is another Calico gift from the Hair Fair that I ever so slightly modified to make it darker.

Greensleeves

What other song could fit more perfectly this beautiful new Evie gown? It is called Cariad (which means beloved, sweetheart or darling in welsh) and it is indeed my new darling dress. What else should I say? It's a gown from Evie's Closet! It cost 450l$ per color, comes in 6 different colors and you can find it at the RFL Fantasy Faire (as well as her other beautiful gowns, including the RFL ones that Mae showed here) or at her main shop

Here it comes in another color. The wings are sold in the RFL vendor of Material Squirrel at the Fair too:

And this is an outfit I bought at the Fair, it's from Rfyre and the profits go to RFL too! Perfect for the Rogue class *winks at Tan*

The usual sunday with a flu...

...and I just can't get over the pretty things one can get when in the Designer Support Network... Displayed below is a random selection of what I received in the past few days:

Non DSN stuff:
- Flats from 50 Flats
- Ankle booties from Doux Petit Dahl
- Hair on the second pic from the Stringer Mausoleum

Promises...

...promises you know you cannot keep...

So yes, I bothered the LCS group for hours the other day to get the fatpack of dresses that was on the midnight mania board at Doux Petit Dahl, and I promised I would post about a thing called "spermy collar", wearing ONLY the said item, if we managed to lock it down (Sua mentions it here, so I can't really pretend I didn't say it)
Let me first show you what I struggled so hard to get, you may have seen them already if you've been reading the blog for a while because Sua posted about them already here:

Yes, I know, they ARE pretty. They are not all in the fatpack, I got some from the lucky chairs and lucky cupcakes in their different store locations, as well as the scarves, thighs and all the ankle booties (except the lipstick and purple ones I bought during the sale at the main store, it may still be on you should definitely go check) Anyway I am seriously considering boxing most my other non fae clothes to wear only those for the next few weeks.

What? The what what? The spermy collar? Shoot, I was kind of hoping you would forget about this... Only problem is I couldn't find it, honest! I asked around and someone sent me to a place called Bondage Witch project store (no comment) and I found an even spookier thing to show you, I hope you will forgive for not showing you exactly what I said I would...

Yes, that's right, this "buddy" 's eye follows you... creepy, huh?

Hair from 69 and Truth (Novocaine)
