08/09/2016 - C88!

Oh hello there! I went into C88 with a low budget today, so I grabbed all the demos, got home, tried everything, and managed to put together a nice outf with only 4 new items. I wish I could have spent more l$, because this round is particularly nice, but oh well, I'm happy with what I have, so there's that.

As far as skins are concerned, I'm very faithful. I've pretty much always worn the same designer, but once in a while, I make an exception, with 2 others that I like very much. Glam Affair is one of them, and her Lelutka applier skin at Collabor 88 is simply stunning.

That sexy suit is from Addams, and I confess, it wasn't the first piece of clothing I had my eyes on, but when I tried the demo I just had to have it. The mesh for the Maitreya body is simply flawless, no matter how I move, and the hardest part was to choose just one colour. It comes with the sexy bra that you can change the texture of, or choose not to show.

Talking about colour, I did fiddle a bit with the gorgeous shoes from Mutresse, to have them match the suit, but here again, the mesh is perfect, the design gorgeous, and for such a deal! Only 188l$ for the shoes, they come with a HUD with billions of different possibilities (trust me, I counted, twice).

If you've been following this blog (oh! that's you then!), you know that Bubbles Clawtooth is one of my go to hair designers. But he is also a lovely human being, who's struggling at the moment in his RL, because his mum is sick. I can't even begin to fathom what he's going through. Because he is spending as much time as he can with her, he hasn't been able to work as hard as he usually does, and we see a little less of him these days on SL.
Cajsa Lilliehook has come up with a lovely idea of a blogger challenge, to show Bubbles our love and support, and promote his amazing creations. As a dilletante blogger, I'm not sure I have much (any) influence on SL economy, but if only one single reader (well, that's you, then) goes to Clawtooth after reading this and buys a new hairstyle, I'll consider myself happy.

Yesterday, little Lord Fartsalot (aka my baby boy) was absolutely adorable, which allowed me to log in my alt and completely revamp her (last time I'd bought anything for her was pre-mesh!). I got her mesh body, head, ears, clothes... everything! I took her to Collabor88 and grabbed pretty clothes, and here we are!

Me again! Yes, really. I admit, being heavily pregnant and stuck at home surely helps with finding time to do SL, shop and blog, I might vanish again after baby's born (any day now), so I enjoy it while it lasts. As promised here are a few more pretties from this month's round of Collabor88.

Not much to say, except if you haven't been yet, you should because there are lovely things this round, and to fix the "sim full" issue, the managers have set up a cam shopping sim right next to the official sim. When I went the cam shopping sim was full as well, but that's twice the number of people, which gives you a fair chance (and with Skin Fair opening today, it'll probably be easier to get in!)

What can I say? I feel inspired to blog these days. 

Also, silly me just found out that being in a certain blogger group gave me early access to some events, like Skin Fair. I have to admit, I'm a bit confused about the latter. There are so many different mesh heads nowadays, and I totally understand that skin makers can all possibly make appliers for each head, but it's a pain in the neck when you only own (and want) one to find appliers you like and that fit you. 

I ended up not buying any skin there, but instead I fell in love with a tattoo from White Widow that I just had to show you, hence the unusual display of skin.

Collabor 88 has opened yesterday and for once, I was able to get in right away. I'll show you more of it in a next post (yes, there's going to be another one, and before next month!), but since I needed to cover some skin to keep this post SFW, I grabbed part of the gorgeous lingerie set that Erratic has on sale there.

As I was whining in the Genesis group about the lack of appliers for their amazing heads, someone kindly pointed me in the direction of the Lara Hurley store. Obviously I know of them, but I don't think I'd ever bought anything from them before, being a bit monomaniac, I tend to stick to the designers I know and love. Well, Lara Hurley makes appliers for the Genesis Lab mesh heads. I strongly advise you to try a demo because not every applier fits every head, but the one I bought was specifically designed for my head, Emily, and I have to say I can't stop staring at my face.

I realise it's been almost a month since my last post and I am sorry. I get so lazy these days with SL, and I tried at some point to recruit more bloggers but that didn't work as expected. So, if you're reading this, if you've always wanted to be a blogger but have a hard time committing to more than a post every few weeks, if you think you could bring something to Look What the Cat Brought, please let me know via a notecard inworld (@ rosemarie indigo) and we'll see if we can work something out.

I've slowly got used to my mesh head and I've started fiddling with skin tones, I also realised I'm going to have to update the Banana Banshee eyes to fit mesh heads, which is going to be a lot of work (bleh, tired already). Anyway, I really love my new face and I'm sticking to it.

First post of the year.

Hello,

Just a quick post because really want to show you a few things. First, after resisting for months, I finally joined the army of clones... well not so much since there are now dozens of mesh heads available. It really took me a while to find one that I didn't hate with a passion. I won't name names but some made me want to slap their resting bitch faces, some I found flat, the rest I found plain ugly.

Plus there's the issue of not being able to wear my favourite skins with a head I could like.

But 2 days ago, a miracle happened. Someone on Plurk posted a picture of a new Genesis Lab head that I found nice enough to want to demo it. So I went to the store but never found it (because obviously, it was at an event, duh), and since I was there and looking at heads, I demo'd a few and found Emily. Emily comes in a gacha, which usually bothers me, but I got lucky and got the rare ones fairly quickly.  At the bottom of this post you'll find the vendor add, each try is 99l$. 

Also, all the appliers for different bodies (in my case Maitreya), hands and feet (Slink) are free, which I find very nice.

The hair is Sabina Gully's latest wonder, it's called Love Song and you'll find it in her mainstore, Magika.

The outfit is a lovely number from Zenith, found at Collabor88, the shirt/dress under the loose sweater can be changed using the HUD, there are enough options to choose from to match it with pretty much anything, in this case the cute chevron tights from Izzie's.

Collabor 88 - June 2015 - Post #1

Hello!

Collabor 88 is probably my favourite event on the grid. It features amazing stores and, although I'm a bit disappointed that everything is not 88l$ like it used to be, I have to admit the quality of the items sold there widely make up for the slightly higher price. 

This is the first of several posts on this month's event, because I bought so many gorgeous things that I want to show you that I couldn't do it in just one post without breaking my one outfit / one post rule.

I'm opening the ball with the most adorable outfit, in bright pink shades. As you probably know if you've been following this blog, red is my favourite colour, in both lives. Collabor 88 - May 2012

I have been waiting for 3 days for Collabor 88 to open. The reason was this hair. I've always been very fond of Bubbles Clawtooth's unique style, but I would seldom wear their hair because there was a stiffness about them that bothered me. Thanks to mesh, it is no more an issue and I can fully enjoy my new Glamazon hair. I think I'm going to be wearing that style for a while.

While I was at Collabor 88, I figured I might as well take a look at the rest of the items... It was a good idea, except for my wallet, because I bought quite a few things... including that very lovely  Gaby skin from IrEn. For some reason, it reminds me of Dicey Tillerman, the heroin of my favorite children book of all times. I think it's what she would look like as a grown up.

My picture of the Daydream Flying Dome from Trompe l'Oeil definitely doesn't do it justice, but you can go check Cory Edo's blog for more pictures before braving the crowd at C88.

The Camille outfit by Tres Blah (for C88) is a one piece mesh skirt and cableknit sweater. It comes in various colors and has a sweet and romantic vibe about it that I really like. I matched it with the perfect Jude boots in nutmeg that I grabbed at Culture Shock in the Ingenue booth.

Ack! I almost forgot to credit the poses! They are all from Marukin, a new to me store, that I discovered at C88. 

Just another manic Monday

For the happy few, today is the last day of the new year vacation. The rest of us are already used to work and wait for the next day off. This post is dedicated to those happy few. Because they will think the first working Monday of the year sucks so bad and they will need a cute outfit to make them feel better. So how about you try this look?
Though it's a mild winter, a warm coat is still a must. And it can look pretty cool and fashionable too. Getting it for a special price is a bonus! Making friends with Jane

I first came across Jane a while back when looking for a new skirt, I popped in, hit the subscribo (as, for some reason, I do with EVERY subscribo!) and wandered off again.
My random subscribo hitting pays off every now and again especially when I get some lovely free mesh jumpers, tights and a onesie!

Mish Mash Collabor8ion

I am alive, I've just not been blogging recently (my bad!) but I recently discovered COLLABOR88 where everything there is (you guessed it) 88L Well one of my favourite designers on the block right now is The Sea Hole and as you can see below is a lovely dress by The Sea Hole at COLLABOR88, now this dress is actually free as a COLLABOR88 group gift and the hair is by !lamb at COLLABOR88 (and is 88L)

Now I had to take a stumble around the new layout and new collection at The Dressing Room Blue and found these gorgeous sequinned leggings/bloomers for 60L by Mimikiri. They just utilise ye olde trousers (no mesh, no prims, no fuss!) and would fit any size with no need to resize, yay!

I then found out that The Dressing Room had rearranged and redesigned the whole store and fell in love with these gorgeous pants by LeeZu, high waisted and very sexy for only 69L

Also, did I not mention these shoes? They are just divine, not too difficult to tint and resize and only 70L by YS&YS and can, again, be found at The Dressing Room
